NRA Personal Protection Outside The Home
Teaches the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential for avoiding dangerous confrontations and for the safe, effective, responsible, and ethical use of a concealed pistol for self-defense outside the home.

This course is at least 14-hours long and includes classroom and range time learning concealed carry safety; defensive mindset for self-defense and concealed carry; legal aspects of concealed carry and self-defense; carry modes and concealment methods; presenting the pistol from concealment basics; presentation, position, and movement actions; special shooting techniques. This course requires the student to posses the basic defensive pistol skills presented in the NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home. Proof of skill includes NRA Personal Protection Inside the Home Course Certificate. Students will receive the NRA Guide to the Basics of Personal Protection Outside the Home handbook, NRA Gun Safety Rules brochure, Winchester/NRA Marksmanship Qualification booklet, take a Personal Protection Outside the Home Student Examination, and course completion certificates.

All firearm handling and shooting is closely supervised and professionally managed at all times. Class lecture time is conducted indoors in a comfortable learning environment. Instructors are NRA Certified Instructors and active members of Sacramento County Firearms Education and Safety Council.
Classroom time seven hours.
Range time seven hours.

Students bring pistol, strong hip holster or purse holster, ammunition (300 rounds), personal protection, knee pads, welding gogles, water and lunch. Instructional materials and targets are provided.
